Acai berries are the fruit of the cabbage palm, also known as the Jucara, Assai palm, or Acai, and grows in the Amazon, among other places. The fruits are approximately 1-1.4cm in size. The seeds of the acai berry are inedible, so only the flesh and skin are consumed. The berry tastes nutty and earthy, not the sweet taste one would normally expect from berries.
