Urid beans are very similar to green mung beans. They are also known as lentil beans and form the basis of numerous Indian dishes and side dishes called dal. Their skin is black and the inside is white. Cooking time is approximately 40 minutes. The peeled white Urid dal is used for pancakes (dosa), flatbreads (papadums), or dumplings (idlis), sometimes with rice. These can be found under items 16301 and 16640.
