Huerta de Tormantos - tomato sauce, 420 g

This premium canned tomato product will delight you! It is made from 100% "Tomata" tomatoes. No salt, no oil... pure nature! The "Tomata" is produced entirely by hand and with great care on approximately 1 hectare of land by the family-run Huerta de Tormantos tomato farm in La Rioja Alta. This tomato is a very special variety: they are very large (between 500g and 1.2kg each), very fleshy, highly aromatic, and have a very deep red color. The tomatoes are planted in May and harvested by hand in September. They are grown without any mineral fertilizers or pesticides. After they have reached optimal ripeness in the sun, they are picked, washed, and peeled. The tomatoes are then hung to ensure they lose as much water as possible. The result is pure, highly aromatic tomato flesh. Approximately 3kg of fresh tomatoes are used for one 420g jar. A delight on its own or with good olive oil and salt. It's also ideal on bread (pan tumaca), in stews, sauces, soups, etc.
