Agazoon, Agar-Agar, Biozoon, E406, 350 g

Agazoon® contains agar-agar (E 406), which is obtained from the cell walls of certain types of algae or seaweed. It is a polysaccharide (= complex sugar) and is available as a white-yellowish or gray powder. Agazoon® can be used as a thickener, gelling agent, or stabilizer. It can be easily incorporated into cold or warm liquids and gels when boiled. Gelled foods are highly stable and can be reheated (up to 80°C) or served warm. In the food industry, agar-agar is used to make soft caramels, marshmallow, meringue, icing, fondant, fillings, jams, processed cheese, yogurt, ice cream, jelly, and canned meat. In the home, it can be used as a vegetarian substitute for gelatin.
